Cabin Air Filter Inspection
Did you know that your vehicle has a cabin air filter? It keeps your heating and air-conditioning system working efficiently and filters out contaminants and micro-organisms like dust, pollen and mold to provide better air quality within your vehicle. Just like your furnace filter at home, your cabin air filter has to be changed in order for your HVAC system to filter your air flow properly.

Cabin Air Filter Service
Many Chevrolet cars, trucks and SUVs now come equipped with a cabin filter which, to achieve optimum air quality within your vehicles, should be inspected and/or changed every year.
This filter is located in your ‘heating, ventilation and air conditioning’ system and is designed to clean and filter the air you breathe in the cabin of your vehicle.
Over time, this filter can become clogged with dust, pollen or dirt and can restrict air flow and may cause an unpleasant odour. Depending on your driving environment, your filter may need to be inspected at more frequent intervals.
During one of our multi-point inspections or lube, oil & filter services, our Jim Tubman Chevrolet Certified Service Technicians will inspect your cabin air filter and may recommend replacement if needed using only Genuine GM Parts.
How do I know if I should change my Cabin Air Filter?
Here are a few signs that it might be time to change your filter.
- Reduced air flow through your HVAC system
- Excess noise from your HVAC system indicating that it’s working harder
- Persistent bad odours within your vehicle
- A buildup of dirt and grit on the filter (if you are able to inspect it)
